July 2021: Operational since February 2019, the Odisha Weightlifting High Performance Centre managed by TENVIC Sports was delivering significant sporting results within a matter of months. Fourteen weightlifters who trained at the Centre won 12 golds and 5 silvers at the State Weightlifting Championship held in September 2019. In February 2020, Kumbheswar Mallik from the HPC clinched a bronze in the 55Kg category at the Khelo India University Games.
While TENVIC Sports focuses on holistic and scientific training for a weightlifter to achieve peak performance in the sport, we also ensure that the young athletes do not compromise on academic excellence. The athletes continue to pursue their education through online classes during the period of the pandemic. TENVIC Sports supplements the formal education curriculum with classroom learning in the HPC bubble. The teachers hold classes on a variety of subjects that cover academic courses like mathematics, computer science and English, but also others that complement academics and sports - communication, psychology and preparing for competitive exams, for instance.
