India and Cricket - the relationship goes way back in time! Remember the time MS Dhoni hit a six to bring the World Cup home? Of course you do! However, do you remember when the last Women’s Cricket World Cup was played? Or who the current captain of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team is? Still hunting for the answer? Believe it or not, the outlook for women’s cricket in India is very different from that for the gentlemen of the game.
Indian Cricket scripted a remarkable story by putting itself on the map with the 1983 World Cup win. And, while there is a long way to go, the 2017 Women’s Cricket World Cup win gave a sense of hope and recognition for women’s cricket in India.
